Violence Prevention Training Program (VPTP)

As of May 17, 2024, The Saskatchewan Employment Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act 2020, will require that all workplaces in Saskatchewan implement a policy statement and Violence Prevention Plan (VPP) to eliminate workplace violence.

All workplaces in Saskatchewan need a policy against violence as well as a Violence Prevention Plan for all staff and supervisors working at a business in Saskatchewan.

Is a policy statement and prevention plan necessary for a workplace that are not in a high-risk industry? YES!

The provincial law requires that a policy statement and prevention plan for all employees be in place by May 17, 2024, even if the business or operation is not in a prescribed high-risk industry. Employee prevention and training is part of the plan and must be provided.

Will violence prevention obligations differ for high-risk workplaces compared to those that have less identifiable risks of violence? NO!

All workplaces are equally obliged to abide by the laws that prevent workplace violence in Saskatchewan by May 17, 2024. Failure to do so can place your employees, and your business at risk of breaching the provincial laws under the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as The Saskatchewan Employment Act. Stay in compliance with proper Violence Prevention Training.

We can train your staff in violence prevention, assist with education that meets the requirements of the provincial laws. Keeping you employees, and your business safe and in compliance with Saskatchewan laws.
